Q -What does Self-Care mean to you?
Self-Care for me is like the gateway to this magical wonderland that makes everything possible! It’s a declaration to ourselves and to the Universe that we are HERE, we are PRESENT, and we are poised and ready to live from a space of love and not fear. Self-care is profound and vital … like oxygen for our souls, really! It’s that comfy-cozy nook where you can curl up and bask in stillness!
Q. Was there a time when you did not take care of YOU and how did it affect your life & business?
Oh, Lawd!! Yes! I remember thinking that self-care was like this ridiculous luxury, and that in order to be strong and be taken seriously, I had to sacrifice and not “waste” money
on things that just felt good, therapeutic, relaxing, yummy, floaty and dreamy. In a way, I also felt like I didn’t deserve it…like I wasn’t worth taking care of, and so I spent all my energy on others, and loved them up, but there was never any energy and love for me.Honestly, it kept me frozen! I felt frustrated, unhealthy, self-loathing and totally disconnected from my desires, my true path, and my Higher Self. It was exhausting! Seems like another lifetime … a different person. Now that self-care, and of course, self-love are priorities in my life, I show up more authentically, and people are actually seeing the real NEON ME!
It has allowed me to flow in my life, and attract more of the people, situations, clients, etc. that I want to have in my life! YAY!
Q. What are your top 3 Self-Care tips that women can incorporate into their lives?
Oohhhh… Ok, let’s work it out:
Tip 1.) CHOOSE BEAUTY every. single day. Do things that make you feel beautiful on a daily basis–even teensy weensy things! It changes everything.Tip 2.) When it comes to your style and the clothing you use to express it, NEVER think…just feel! That’s how you visually express who you truly are.Tip 3.) Lemon water in the morning, y’all. Nuff said.
Q. What’s something (fun, silly, surprising) that we can learn about you?
I ADORE dancing and after a good wedding (where I have been known to tie my dress at the bottom so that I can do back-spins and have official dance-offs without showing my skivvies), I look like I just stepped into the shower fully clothed. Also, if there’s karaoke + dancing, WOW!That’s my jam right there. This may sound so very hackneyed, but I’ma say it anyway: dancing really makes me feel FREE and it is delicious because I truly feel connected to my Highest, most potent and kick-ass self when getting my groove on.
Eyenie and I want to know.
What have you been sacrificing in the name of OTHERS … or being non-selfish? Are you ready to shift that limiting loop?
