How saying YES to a 5-star hotel changed my perspective, my life & my biz

I’ve always believed in divine timing, synchronicity and trusting in the process. From choosing places to live, to choosing jobs and taking crazy leaps of faith, I’ve always counted on insights from my intuition, signs from the Universe and trusting the process to unfold in a way that sometimes I can’t see or understand in the moment.

The things that happen along the path … opportunities, bumps in the road and inspired ideas, are all signs and invitations to explore our own internal process. Sometimes what seems like a HUGE opportunity can bring up all of our internal shit. This includes your stories around making money,  allowing abundance into your life, even how much joy we can tolerate. Yes, I said tolerate. Think about it and ask yourself this question: How much joy, wealth and abundance can I tolerate?

This is the exact question I had to face and dance with when an amazing opportunity to work with Caroline White literally landed in my lap.

Here’s how it all unfolded:

Synchronicity #1

I was chatting with a friend who was asking me about branding and photography. We were discussing and playing with the idea of how amazing it would be to have a luxury retreat with a photo shoot that reflected our authentic personality in a fun easy way. I remembered an interview I had seen with Caroline White where she shared her journey from being an actress to her role now as a sought-after branding photographer & videographer.

Synchronicity #2

Later that same night I searched for Caroline White on Facebook so that I could share Caroline’s amazing free branding guide with my friend and ran across Caroline’s fundraising post where she was raising money for this gorgeous young girl on the other side of the globe who was fighting for her health and was a gifted artist. I instantly decided to donate some money and support her cause.

Little did I know, by making that donation, I was being entered into Caroline’s drawing for a free photo branding shoot. WHAT!?!

Synchronicity #3

Here’s where it gets GOOD! One morning, a few weeks after donating to Caroline’s fundraising, I was in the shower {where I get lots of inspiration and flow with all sorts of gratitude}. I found myself transported into the idea of creating a branding video for my new website that was being built. My next thought was, What if I could hire Caroline White to do that in LA or Paris? My next thought was,  Maybe next year when I can invest at that level. Smiling, I closed that series of thoughts and moved on to getting ready for my day.

Synchronicity #4

When I came downstairs, hubby and kiddo were already downstairs getting breakfast ready. I turned on the hot water for my morning coffee ritual and quickly glanced at my laptop, which was sitting on the counter above my coffee press. And this is what I saw:

I literally had to read it 3 times!!! I couldn’t believe it!!!

This was my response:

This is where the 5-Star Hotel comes into play. After this amazing news, lots of happy tears and me jumping up and down in sheer bliss, I set into planning mode.

At first I thought I’d shoot in Seattle which was just a drive away. But a few days later I began to think about what I teach my clients. I encourage them to honor themselves, to invest in themselves and to elevate their life & business by becoming their #1 asset in life, business & the bedroom.

Would the #1 asset in MY business settle for 2nd choice?

This was an amazing opportunity and I wanted to experience it in the sunshine of LA. After chatting with Caroline, I booked my flight to Los Angeles, which was easy enough. Booking the hotel was a whole different story.

I started pricing out hotels and holy WOW you could spend a shitload of money on a really mediocre hotel in Santa Monica near the beach.

Then I found it … the Viceroy. The colors, the style, the location … AMAZING! It was exactly the right setting for my Divine Self-Care video. However, the price nearly gave me a heart attack.

How much luxury can I tolerate?

I came face to face with my own level of tolerance for expansion, receiving and investing in myself and my business. There I was feeling like I had to justify my existence, my spending and business itself. All of this from booking ONE little hotel room.

I’ll be totally honest here. It took me about a week to step into OWNING my decision to book the room … to say YES to the ocean-front upgrade and actually hand over my credit card number.

My ever-wise hubby & the shift

What was the shift? I received a reflection of myself from my husband. He saw what I was going through, practically tormenting myself by trying to justify spending SO much money on 3 nights in a 5-star hotel by the beach, to shoot this video.

He normally lets me go through my process until I’m ready to discuss … but he stopped me in my own tracks and said, “You teach women to say YES to themselves, to invest in themselves and to choose to honor themselves on all levels. This is your business … if you don’t say YES to this experience, you’ll look back a year from now and hate that you chose mediocre. Just imagine yourself shooting that video in the amazing 5-star hotel.”

That was all the reflection I needed. I WAS imagining my video at the beautiful hotel. I clearly saw myself walking on the beach, sharing in this luxury with my clients and friends. So I said YES!!!

Yes to the gorgeous Viceroy Hotel, where they treated me like a queen.
Yes to hair & makeup … feeling supported and loved all day.
Yes to the upgrade … I LOVED waking up to the ocean each morning … I could cry with joy just thinking about it right now.
Yes to my amazing sister who arrived with loads of gorgeous clothes and accessories to adorn me.
Yes to clients and dear friends arriving to support me.

I felt so loved, supported and guided the entire way-  All because I said YES!

As soon as I hit enter on that credit card information of the hotel, I felt an instant expansion. I felt instant elevation of my life, my business and my brand. It was amazing. New clients arrived, inspiration and synchronicity have expanded and the prosperity flowed.

Most of all … I instantly expanded in my ability to not only tolerate MORE … but to ENJOY more of what I dream of and enjoy it along the way.

Working with Caroline was an absolute dream.

Have you ever been around someone who was SO on purpose, on path and in their zone of genius? Yeah, that’s what it’s like working with Caroline White. She was always thinking about light, color, image, branding and environment. And she made me feel so comfortable in my own skin. She helped me to craft my script with feedback that was kind, engaged and very smart. We spent the entire day working together … and it ALL felt like joyful play.

Yes I was exhausted the following day … exhausted with the joy and bliss of saying yes to me, to my dreams and to all of the magic unfolding before me.

So now … here’s the BIG REVEAL!
